The owners of the former Mountain View Country Club propose bringing new purpose, vitality, and community amenities to the unused land through The Trails at Corona, a master-planned community.
Repurposing the former golf course will provide a safe, secure well-maintained environment to deter vagrancy, trespassing and illegal dumping.
New homes will provide funding to create and maintain trails and open space for use by the adjacent community, enhancing the value of the surrounding neighborhoods.
The Trails at Corona team has collected input from residents on conceptual ideas through online and direct mail surveys as well as large- and small-group community meetings. This feedback prompted a substantial redesign to the project, and the plans were changed and submitted to the County of Riverside in October 2021. Currently, these plans are being reviewed by the Planning Department and an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is underway.
